LOW-INTENSITY SUBNANOSECOND FLUORESCENCE STUDY OF THE LIGHT-HARVESTING CHLOROPHYLL a/b PROTEIN
نویسنده
چکیده
The fluorescence decay characteristics of the isolated light-harvesting chlorophyll a/b protein have been studied using low-intensity subnanosecond-resolution time-correlated single-photon counting. In the monomeric state in detergent micelles, the chlorophyll a/b protein exhibits biexponential decay (~t = 1.2 ns, ~'2 = 3.3 ns) with the two components having very similar weights. The decay parameters do not depend on emission wavelength. These results are discussed in relation to the Van Metter-Knox-Shepanski model (Van Metter, R.M. (1977) Biochim. Biophys. Acta 462, 642-657; Shepanski, J.S. and Knox, R.S. (1982) Isr. J. Chem., in the press) of the chlorophyll a/b protein, and a kinetic analysis of the energy-transfer processes. The influence of detergent composition and concentration on the fluorescence decay of the chlorophyll protein is also described.

Identification and Characterization of LHCB1 Co-Suppressed Line in Arabidopsis
To explore the function of light-harvesting complex protein (LHCP) in Arabidopsis growth and development, the Leclere and Bartel seed collection was screened. In this collection randomly cloned cDNAs are expressed under the CaMV35S promoter. A pale green line has been identified and characterized in more details. Analysis of the inserted cDNA in the pale green line showed it encodes LHCB1 prote...

متن کاملEffect of gibberellic acid on some fluorescence and chlorophyll characteristics of Cyclamen persicum Mill. seedlings under different light regimes
The use of growth regulators and light quality change are two methods to improve plant performance. Therefore, a factorial experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design. Factors included three light modes (greenhouse light (control) and LED combination light of white: red: blue as 70: 10: 20 and 40: 40: 20 ratios) and gibberellic acid in four concentrations (0, 20, 40 and 60 mg/l)....

Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) fruit is an important medicinal plant in Iran. The harvesting time is a crucial for jujube fruit quality. Several characteristics of jujube fruit when harvested at four development stages; white mature (light green), crisp mature (white-red), fully mature (red) and fully ripe (dehydrated brown) were evaluated. Fruit weight, diameter, volume, pulp to stone ratio, f...
متن کاملAdaptation of Chloroplast-Ultrastructure and of Chlorophyll- Protein Levels to High-Light and Low-Light Growth Conditions*
In saturating light radish seedlings grown in high-light growth conditions (90 W • n r 2) possess a much higher photosynthetic capacity on a chlorophyll and leaf area basis than the low-light grown plants (10 W • m-2). The higher C 0 2-fixation rate of HL-plants is due to the presence of HL-chloroplasts which possess a different ultrastructure and also different levels of the individual chlorop...
